In 2013, one of every two phones will be a Smartphone


The increase in Smart phone sales in the Asia-Pacific region will be one of the keys, according to a report from IHS iSuppli. The popularity of Smart phone is growing. Whether your designs, performance or just for fashion, the smart phone industry has seen significant progress in recent years. A year ago, research firm IHS iSuppli predicted that by 2015 half of the phones would be Smart phone. Now, the company itself and retracts forward this to 2013. Therefore, during the next year, one of every two phones in the world will be 'smart' (specifically, the number will reach 54%).

In 2011, Smart phone accounted for up to 35% of the devices sold worldwide. Wayne Lam, an analyst at the firm, attributes the increase to "the fall in prices and a wide variety of models have led to the expansion of sales of low-end Smart phone in the Asia-Pacific and a slight increase but constant-on sales in the United States and Europe.”

As reported by AllThingsD, IHS provides that in 2016 the global market share of Smart phone reach 66%, ie, up to two thirds of the total.
